In a revealing and controversial interview with DJ Akademiks on YouTube, American rapper Kanye West opened up about his personal regrets and ongoing legal battles with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. The artist, often in the headlines for his outspoken remarks, candidly shared that he regrets having children with Kardashian.

“That was my fault. I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with her, but that wasn’t God’s plan,” Kanye confessed, acknowledging that he hadn’t planned on becoming a father with Kardashian.

West and Kardashian, who tied the knot in 2014 in a grand ceremony in Italy, share four children together: North (11), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (5). Despite their seemingly glamorous life, the couple’s relationship ended in divorce in 2021. Since then, Kanye has been vocal about his struggles regarding parental rights and custody.

In the same interview, West expressed frustration over not owning the likeness and names of his children. “All of the brands that I made, I don’t get the name and likeness ownership, or at least 50-50 with my kids. So how is it joint custody? My kids are celebrities, and I don’t have a say,” he voiced.

He further criticised the Kardashian family, stating, “So this white woman and this white family have the control of these highly influential black kids that are half the children of Ye.” His words have sparked conversations online about identity, celebrity parenting, and racial dynamics in co-parenting.

This isn’t the first time West has clashed publicly with the Kardashian clan. Referring to them as a “mob,” Kanye has accused the family of stripping him of parental rights. “All these rights have been taken from me by the Kardashian mob,” he mentioned on social media.

A Reddit post also resurfaced a moment from Kanye’s 2020 U.S. Presidential campaign, where he emotionally revealed that he had considered aborting his daughter. “I almost killed my daughter,” he had admitted during a rally, according to The Mirror US.

West continues to demand greater involvement in his children’s lives. “I need to have say so of where they go to school and who their friends are and whose houses they sleep over and whether my daughters wear lipstick and perfume,” he emphasized.

The ongoing legal disputes over custody rights and brand ownership have further strained the already tumultuous relationship between West and Kardashian. As of now, Kanye appears determined to reclaim his say in his children’s future, even as the drama between both parties remains very public.
