Garcia’s suspension could lead him to look for greener pastures in another continent.

These are trying times for Ryan Garcia. A one-year suspension, as well as his out-of-ring antics and behavior, have put his career in a precarious position. Garcia will only be 26 years old by the time his suspension ends, but he will have been out of the ring for well over a year at that time.

Garcia’s own decisions have led to this moment, but now he has other choices to make in order to save and prolong his boxing career. ESPN personality and boxing fanatic Stephen A. Smith took to the airwaves on Wednesday to lay into Garcia and ask a rhetorical question.

Smith simply doesn’t understand how Garcia could throw such a promising career out the window. If he obeyed the rules and did things right, he would be on his way to a rematch with Gervonta Davis right now.

Smith was actually sympathetic with Garcia about his initial loss to Tank, saying that a liver shot could knock out just about anyone, and that Garcia wasn’t overly dominated in that fight.

Then he floats the possibility of Garcia heading to Saudi Arabia to get around his suspension. It’s unclear if that’s a real possibility or not, but Garcia has a lot to think about at the moment.
