Chelsea look ready to hand a couple of their youngsters a chance in pre-season.
The Blues have a new manager in charge following the appointment of Enzo Maresca.
Maresca replaced Mauricio Pochettino earlier this month after the Argentine left the club by mutual consent and will want to have a look at all of his players.
That could be good news for some of the younger footballers at Chelsea.
The Italian’s first game in charge is against his former side Manchester City on August 18.
Who could be included in Chelsea’s pre-season tour?
Chelsea are heading to America for their pre-season this summer.
New man Tosin Adarabioyo will be there, and he could be joined by a signing from the last summer transfer window.
According to BBC Sport, Chelsea have told Angelo Gabriel to prepare for the club’s pre-season tour of America.
The Blues signed Angelo from Santos last July, with the winger yet to play a competitive game for them.
BBC Sport’s report claims that Chelsea have also told Angelo’s compatriot, Andrey Santos, the same thing.
Can Angelo Gabriel convince Enzo Maresca?
Angelo had quite a productive loan spell at Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg last season.
In total, he made 21 league appearances and provided three assists.
He would have liked to have scored a goal, but the above is not bad for a 19-year-old who has just started playing in Europe.
Angelo may very well possess the kind of talent that could impress Maresca. However, you would still expect the wide man to leave Chelsea on another loan.
Maresca already has Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke for the wide positions.
There is always the possibility of Palmer getting moved to the No.10 role, but Chelsea are said to be working on bringing Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise to west London, meaning there is likely to be no room for Angelo at Stamford Bridge next season.
Unless the Brazilian has the best pre-season ever seen at Chelsea, he is probably going out on loan again.
