Helped me play my best football'... Levi Colwill shares what really helped him to settle in at Chelsea

The central defender returned to Chelsea last summer after spending the 2022/23 season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion.

It did not take long for Levi Colwill to become an important player for Mauricio Pochettino.

The 21-year-old made 32 appearances in all competitions, playing at both left-back and centre-back.

He also captained the Blues on one occasion in the Premier League, a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United, and had it not been for a toe injury, Colwill probably would have finished the campaign with more games under his belt.

Levi Colwill discusses Chelsea’s upcoming pre-season tour

Chelsea are heading to the United States for their pre-season this summer.

They were there last summer, and Colwill says that tour really helped him to settle in at Chelsea after two loan spells away from west London.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Englishman said: “The tour last year definitely helped me settle in and get comfortable around the lads. And that helped me play my best football. So it definitely helped me once the season got going and hopefully this pre-season is just as good.

“I think the games we’ve got lined up are really exciting games, and they’re going to prepare us perfectly.”

Who will Chelsea be playing in this summer’s pre-season tour of America?
There are some exciting games coming up for Chelsea supporters in the US to go and watch live.

The Blues will face Champions League winners Real Madrid and Premier League holders Manchester City in August.

Before then, Colwill and Co. take on Club America, Celtic and Wrexham, with those games taking place in July.

Colwill has actually been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, but Chelsea would be mad to entertain any offers for him in the upcoming transfer window.

Colwill is still young, versatile and has shown that he has the potential to be a leader at Stamford Bridge one day. They have got to keep him at the club.
