Despite opening as the largest indoor arena in the United Kingdom, Manchester Co-op Live has already had a number of A-listers postpone or reschedule their performances due to construction delays. But this won’t stop US rapper Travis Scott from announcing his summer performance at the venue.Despite persistent problems that have delayed the inauguration of the troubled Co-op Live music venue, Travis Scott has nonetheless announced a performance there.

On Tuesday, the US rapper announced 12 additional shows in the UK and Europe, including one in Manchester Arena on July 13th as part of his Circus Maximus Tour.

It follows issues that have delayed the venue’s launch, the £365 million Co-op Live.

The arena’s bosses announced that power testing had fallen behind schedule, postponing the April launches of the arena’s comedy gigs by Peter Kay.

According to the venue, the new date for opening is May 14th, when the British rock band Elbow will be performing. When it opens, the facility will have the capacity to accommodate 23,500 people, making it the largest in the UK.Just last week, the venue announced that it will be temporarily suspending all events in order to guarantee the safety of all patrons and performers.

A “technical issue” during soundcheck the day before led to the last-minute cancellation of American rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s performance.Oak View Group, a venue operator based in the United States, issued an apology to “all those that have been affected” by the delayed opening and stated that employees were working “incredibly hard” to prepare the facility for the event on May 14.

“As many of you will know, it’s not been the smooth start we had planned for, and I know that has caused a huge amount of disruption and frustration to thousands of people,” said the president.The problems started after an April test event, which caused Co-op Live to announce that Kay’s stand-up concerts would have to be rescheduled. These were rescheduled twice, once to May 23 and again to May 24, after being postponed in April.

The Black Keys have also rescheduled their performance for May 15th. The 3 and 4 May dates of Rodrigo’s show were rescheduled, while the 1 May concert of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was rescheduled to the city’s AO Arena three days later.

Several Take That gigs have been rescheduled to the AO, and on 2 May, a Keane gig that was supposed to place on 5 May was postponed.While the facility is set to host a slew of famous artists in the near future—including Nicki Minaj, Pet Shop Boys, Liam Gallagher, Pearl Jam, The Killers, and Eric Clapton—only a test event with Rick Astley has taken place thus far.

Last month, Gary Roden, the general manager of the arena, made the announcement that he was resigning.
