Chelsea submit official bid to sign player who Enzo Maresca thinks is ‘fantastic’

Chelsea are reportedly looking to make their next transfer of what is looking like another busy summer transfer window.

Chelsea submit official bid to sign player who Enzo Maresca thinks is ' fantastic'

The Blues are looking to give the best possible backing to new manager Enzo Maresca, who was brought in with a long contract to replace Mauricio Pochettino after just one season at the helm.

They are looking to get business done early, and have already secured the free signing of Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of a number of other interested top-flight sides.

Now though, they are looking at other positions, and have been linked with a player who Maresca is already a massive fan of.

During his stint managing Leicester City back to the Premier League, he was a big fan of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, describing him as ‘fantastic’.

Chelsea submit official bid for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

After it was reported the Blues were interested in a deal, The Athletic have stated now that Chelsea have submitted an actual offer to sign the midfielder.

It looked very much as if the Englishman was going to be on the move to Brighton, however it seems that deal has collapsed now Chelsea have come to the table.

Dewsbury-Hall only wants to join Chelsea

Since their interest, it has been claimed Dewsbury-Hall is only keen on a move to Chelsea if he is to leave Leicester.

There will certainly be some that are wondering if this signing is actually necessary, especially after the money they have spent on midfielders up to now.

They smashed their club transfer record twice in consecutive windows with the additions of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, with neither likely to be dropping out of the first team up to now.

There is also of course players such as Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos who will be hoping to finally have an impact on the first team next season, after injuries and loans saw them unable to do so during last season.
