Ryan Garcia broke down in tears as he addressed his recent actions and stressed he has been ‘going through a lot’. Over the last few weeks, concerns were raised about the 25-year-old’s mental well-being ahead of his boxing match with Devin Haney on April 20.

He claimed he was allegedly raped at the age of two, tied up and forced to watch other children suffer abuse, and he admitted to being intoxicated during a fan Q&A on social media. Furthermore, Garcia even proclaimed that an earthquake was due to turn Hollywood and Las Vegas into piles of rubble.

Following his worrying remarks, the WBC communicated with New York’s athletic commission about his mental wellbeing, and he even had his social media accounts removed, but they have now been restored. The American took to TikTok on Tuesday and issued some emotional comments as he shed tears on camera following what has been a challenging period for the boxing star.

“I don’t want to cry but it is only because of the spirit and love I feel right now,” the lightweight fighter said. “I’ve been going through a lot lately and I have been going through a lot of hurt. I tried my hardest to share all the love that people gave me, and help the kids.

“I tried my best and everybody tried to break me down. I just tried to do something good, I put a lot on the line. They judged me hard but I kept going. And I just wanted to come on here and say I love you guys.”

Garcia later clarified it was his belief in God that led to his emotional comments and tearful state. This is explained in the video’s caption which read: “The love of the Holy Spirit. Its beyond comprehension and will make a grown man cry.

“Some may see this as weakness, but those who know the POWER and STRENGTH of the Holy Spirit understand I’m trying my best here, please don’t judge me too hard.” Due to the recent behavior displayed by ‘The Flash’, many called for his WBC super lightweight title bout with the undefeated Haney to be called off.

But on Saturday Garcia dismissed any chance of the fight being canceled, despite some claiming he is not fit to fight in Las Vegas in April. “I don’t know about you guys but I feel perfectly fine. I am off to the gym to go and spar, all that cancel the fight talk… stop all that,” he said in a defiant message on Instagram.

“I train hard and we are passionate. Just because I’m not just a boxer does not mean that something is wrong. He added: “Stop all that talk. It’s a fight. I’m ready to fight. Passion is displayed in many ways.”
