One Chelsea player looks as if he is approaching a return to full fitness after being spotted as part of first team training again.

Injuries have absolutely destroyed the Blues this season, and had a real impact on how Mauricio Pochettino has been able to construct his side every week.

Recently, they went into a huge game against rivals Tottenham at Stamford Bridge without any fit first team players available on the bench, and therefore responsibility was high on a number of youth players.

The likes of Alfie Gilchrist have stepped up when given their opportunities, however now a number of top players have begun to return to action.

It took club captain Reece James just minutes to return to action with an assist, setting up the winning goal at the weekend for Nicolas Jackson against Nottingham Forest.

On the other side, Ben Chilwell has been absent for the last five games with his own issue. He has only registered ten minutes in the last ten games in the Premier League.

The vice-captain has endured injury problems for a number of seasons now, although pictures on the 5th Stand have shown him taking part in first team training again.

In the England international’s absence, Marc Cucurella has stepped up and put in arguably his best performances since joining the club.

The Spaniard has been inverting into midfield on numerous ocassions, helping out the equally impressive Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher in the middle of the park.

Pochettino will have a headache bringing Chilwell back into the side due to this, with his best football no doubt played as a high-flying wing-back who stays wide on the pitch.

His quality on his day is undoubted though, and having him fit will offer the manager another option in this position that can give them another avenue of attack.
